BASIC INFORMATION ON DATA PROTECTION

Below, we inform you about the data protection policy of UDC in the context of the RURALtXA! Project!

Data controller

The personal data that may be requested directly from the interested party will be treated confidentially and will be incorporated into the corresponding processing activity owned by UDC (UDC – Secretaría Xeral, R/Maestranza 9, 15001, A Coruña; telephone 981167000; email rpd@udc.gal).

Purpose

The purpose of the processing of personal data by UDC is to fulfill its duties and responsibilities regarding the execution of research, development, and innovation projects by the research staff of the University, specifically the fulfillment of its duties and responsibilities in the development of the RURALtXA! project. All persons who come into contact with this data for the aforementioned purpose will comply with the confidentiality duty established in Article 5 of the Organic Law on Data Protection (LOPD). This data will be processed for the time necessary to fulfill the aforementioned purpose, without prejudice to its retention in relation to the possible requirement of legal responsibilities.

Data category

Personal data necessary for the execution of the RURALtXA! project, which will depend on the theme and activities of the project itself. LEGITIMATION The primary basis for the processing carried out by UDC is the provision of the public service of higher education. Consent given by interested parties in cases where they authorize it can also be a basis for processing. In other processing, the basis for legitimization may be the need in the execution of contracts, compliance with specific legal provisions, or the fulfillment of a mission carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of public powers. All these conditions are in accordance with Article 6.1 of the European Regulation: Art. 6.1.e) GDPR: fulfillment of a mission carried out in the public interest (LO 6/2001, 21-12, on Universities, and Law 14/2011, 1-6, on science, technology, and innovation), and/or the consent of the interested parties (art. 6.1.a) GDPR).

Data retention

The personal data provided will be kept for the time necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they are requested. The data will be anonymized when they are no longer necessary for the intended purpose (without prejudice to their retention, duly blocked, for the time required by specific sectoral regulations, for the purposes of possible legal responsibilities) or may be kept for scientific research purposes in accordance with the guarantees provided for in the GDPR, especially in its Article 89.

Data communication

As a general rule, personal data will not be communicated to third parties, except for legal obligation. The data will be communicated among the partners of the RURALtXA project for the development of the project and with the Biodiversity Foundation for the justification of the project, in any case based on one of the legal bases provided for in the GDPR.

Rights of the interested parties

Any person has the right to obtain confirmation about the processing of their data carried out by UDC.
